Manuela (Madrid, 2002) is a visual artist based in Madrid, working primarily with watercolor monoprints. Her work explores the imprints that landscapes leave on us, using abstraction to investigate themes of memory, perception, and belonging. Through the delicate balance between control and chance that this medium allows, she creates layered surfaces that invite viewers to engage in a shifting, intimate experience of place.
She holds an MA in Printmaking from the Royal College of Art (2025) and a BA in Graphic Design (2024) from the University for the Creative Arts.
Recent exhibitions include her first solo show CAUCES in Madrid and her duo show A TRAVÉS DEL AGUA as well as group exhibitions and fairs such as Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair, Southwark Park Galleries, and Tonheim Gallery. She was awarded a Highly Commended recognition from the RSA Student Design Awards and participated in the Travers Smith Art Program in 2024.
Manuela is drawn to the poetic tension between clarity and ambiguity, using visual abstraction as a way to open up spaces of reflection. Through her practice, she seeks to create work that resonates with shared experiences of place, movement, and memory.
